BLACK WOMEN UNMUTED
Black Women Unmuted is a digital startup devoted to reporting news about Black women in political and policy-making spaces, while amplifying the voices of Black women as the storytellers. We take the sisters off mute one story at a time. We publish on our website and YouTube channel and we share content with editorial partners. This 2019 in-depth look at then-Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms, published by our partner Fierce For Black Women, is one example of that. Another is our most recent virtual panel about attacks on the professional credibility of Black women in legal, political and academic arenas. We do not use a paywall; our stories are always free.
For a quick glimpse into who we are, please check out Black Women Unmuted's sizzle reel and our socials: Facebook, X and Instagram. I discussed Black Women Unmuted's mission at length with my dear friend, the great Black Eagle Joe Madison, in this 2019 Sirius/XM interview, and editor at Large Nicki Mayo and I are regulars on WHUR's Daily Drum with Harold Fisher.
